the gear

Now we all like a bit of a gear and I'm no exception. It is what you do with it that counts, but good quality equipment definitely gives you an edge. I don't have masses of equipment, but what I do have is of the highest quality, and more importantly, because I use this gear all the time, I know it very well. As I'm generally only recording one or two things at a time this works well for me. Not saying I wouldn't like more, but I certainly feel I have enough good quality gear to make first rate recordings. Have a look through the list below.

daw and computer

My DAW of choice is Studio One by Presonus. I have a mixing desk that syncs up seamlessly with this and so it's very efficient in terms of workflow. I also have Pro Tools, but it doesn't often get used.

This runs on an iMac dual core 2.7Ghz machine. I also have a Universal Audio Satellite, which is a second processor that handles effects and plugins.
